Bayern Munich President Herbert Hainer is optimistic that the record German champions will win their eleventh championship in a row.
“Thank God it’s in our own hands. We have to win our own games and then we’ll be German champions at the end of the day. And I think that’s going to happen,” said Hainer on the sidelines of an event in the Allianz Arena.
“I think you can see that the team is improving from game to game,” said Hainer. “That makes us confident.” With two games to go before the end of the season, Bayern are one point ahead of pursuers Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga table.
Hainer thinks it’s good that the race for the German championship is tight again after years of Munich dominance. “The whole German nation wanted an exciting Bundesliga. Now we have one – and that’s the right thing to do. But at the end of the day, of course, we want to win the eleventh German championship title in a row.”
