Timmo Hardung is the new sporting director at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 33-year-old, who has been head of the licensed player department at the Bundesliga soccer team since July 2021, will take up his new position on July 1. The position has been vacant since Bruno Hübner left in 2021.
Hardung was long considered a close confidante of Julian Nagelsmann and worked with the star coach as a team manager at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and as a licensed game manager at RB Leipzig. In Frankfurt he reports to sports director Markus Krösche. “Timmo Hardung has developed excellently in recent years and also has a broad network in national and international football,” said Krösche in a press release.
The previous team manager Christoph Preuß will take over the management of the licensed players department. Business administration graduate Hardung, holder of the UEFA B license, has also worked in the youth sector. Last year he completed the management course in professional football of the German Football Association and German Football League.
