Chaser Arsenal’s 0-1 draw against Nottingham on Saturday made yesterday’s 1-0 win against Chelsea a championship party even before kick-off.
It was slowed down, at least by the players – given a historic opportunity: 24 years after Manchester United, Manchester City is on the way to repeating the unique treble from the Champions League, Premier League and FA Cup titles. On June 3, the city rivals are the opponents in the FA Cup final, on June 10 in Istanbul against Inter Milan for the Champions League victory.
“This is a season I will never forget,” said Manchester City captain Ilkay Gündogan after the league masterpiece. “The Premier League is undoubtedly the most demanding and toughest league in the world. And that says everything about what an achievement that is.”
