Argentine tennis player T.hiago brace jwill play his first Grand Slam at Roland Garros starting next Sunday, after beating Swiss Dominic Stricker 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 this Thursday in the third and final qualifying round.
Tirant, born in the silver 22 years ago and ranked 153rd in the ATP world ranking, he beat Stricker (116) after one hour and 50 minutes of play and was thus able to overcome a Grand Slam ranking for the first time on his sixth attempt.
The man from La Plata had not been able to go through the “qualy” in the editions of the 2022 and 2023 Australian Open and neither at Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open last year.
The Argentine, champion this year at the Challenger de Morelos, in Mexico, joins his eight compatriots who had entered the Grand Slam directly by ranking to be played in Paris.
