The title and relegation decisions in the second football league have been postponed to the last round. Despite the 1-0 (0-0) win at the Rapid Amateurs, FC Blau-Weiss Linz is still dependent on outside help because GAK defeated Amstetten 3-0. Forward Steyr can still make it on their own in the relegation battle after beating Vienna 1-0 (1-0) – but they need a win away from home in the final on June 4 (2:30 p.m.) against Admira.

Blue White Linz: In practically the same second, FC Blau-Weiss Linz scored in the 1-0 win against the Rapid Amateurs and table leaders GAK in the 3-0 win against Amstetten for a 1-0 lead. Fally Mayulu, who is under contract with Rapid next season, released a superior but also nervous blue and white squad with a “noble scooter” into the far post (51st). That should be enough in the end. Coach Gerald Scheiblehner: “The victory was absolutely deserved, especially because of the second half.” St. Pölten is out of the title race after yesterday’s 2-1 draw against FAC. Negative for blue and white: FC Dornbirn, the opponents of the GAK at the end, is saved after the 2-0 win against Horn. Scheiblehner: “I know my fellow coach Thomas Janeschitz well. I know that he will still give everything with Dornbirn.

SK Vorwarts Steyr: With a 1-0 (1-0) win against Vienna, SK Vorwarts Steyr was able to save themselves at least once in a final. In the away game against Admira next week, the third relegated team will be fixed in a direct duel. Only a win helps the forward, a draw is enough for the Admira to do it on their own. All other teams that are in front of Admira and Forward are saved. The Rapid and Austria amateurs have already been relegated. After a foul on Tolga Günes, Murat Satin converted the imposed penalty with a shot into the right corner to win (41st).

Vöcklamarkt’s bitter 1:2

Only in the 95th minute had regional league club Vöcklamarkt beaten 1:2 in Leoben. This means that the Upper Styrians remain in first place in the table ahead of the LASK amateurs. In the event of a tie, the black and white would have passed. Doubly bitter for Vöcklamarkt before the last two rounds: Because Treibach turned a 1:2 win against SAK Klagenfurt into a 3:2 win in injury time, Vöcklamarkt is only two points behind in 14th place.

Fixed as of today: In the worst case, a maximum of three teams have to be relegated from the Regionalliga Mitte. IfVors Steyr still manages to save themselves in the second division, then 14th place will still be enough to stay up in the league.
