It doesn’t always have to be extraterrestrial feats to win a game. The applied handbrake was enough for FC Bayern in the 3-1 (2-0) win over FC Augsburg in the German Bundesliga to win the game.

Harry Kane scored two goals on his home debut for Bayern. The 100 million striker scored the penalty after 40 minutes to make it 2-0. Dorsch fended off a Kimmich shot from 19 meters on the goal line with his hand. The penalty imposed after VAR studies was put by Kane with a shove in the middle of the goal. After the break, Kane converted the cross pass after a one-two from Davies and Coman from close range to make it 3-0 (69th). Even before that, Bayern had been able to celebrate a slapstick own goal from Augsburg. Felix Uduokhai was unable to react and stumbled onto the post with the ball at his foot, from where the ball went into the goal. Konrad Laimer played 70 minutes for Bayern.

Mainz 05 gave up the first win of the season late on when returnee Philipp Mwene made his debut. Coach Bo Svensson’s team drew 1-1 at home with Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday after conceding a goal in added time. Mainz took the lead through Jae-sung Lee (25′), Omar Marmoush equalized (91′). Karim Onisiwo was absent for the hosts with a flu infection.

Dortmund still weak

Runner-up Borussia Dortmund did not get beyond a 1-1 draw in the small district derby of the German Bundesliga at VfL Bochum after a performance that could be improved. ÖFB legionnaire Kevin Stöger gave Bochum the lead on Saturday afternoon in the Ruhr Stadium (13th). The hitherto weak Borussia, for which Marcel Sabitzer was on the pitch until the 61st minute, equalized after the break. Donyell Malen took aim from the edge of the penalty area (56′), but the shot seemed sustainable. Stöger almost tied the brace with a deflected shot, BVB goalie Gregor Kobel prevented the goal from being scored with a great save (68′). In the end, Bochum got the first point a week after the 0:5 debacle in Stuttgart.
