The German team won the title in 2013, 2015 and 2021. The Romanians won in 2002 and 2017. At the European Games in Krakow, the Germans also lost the final against Romania 2-3.
National coach Tamara Boros had previously assessed the semi-final against Portugal as a “50:50 game”. But Mittelham and Han gave the top Portuguese players Jieni Shao and Fu Yu no chance. Shan got the third point even more effortlessly against Ines Matos. In total, the German women have won the European team championship eight times.
