FC Bayern Munich will continue to be without Serge Gnabry in their Bundesliga home game. In addition, a trio will take a break.
National soccer player Serge Gnabry is still missing from FC Bayern Munich. The winger, who has been out for a month due to a broken arm, has to sit out the Bundesliga home game against SV Darmstadt 98 on Saturday (3:30 p.m./Sky) due to illness.
“Unfortunately he became ill. After the long healing time and getting used to the track, we would have had the chance to include him in the squad,” said coach Thomas Tuchel.
Due to injuries, central defender Dayot Upamecano (torn hamstring), defensive all-rounder Raphael Guerreiro (torn hamstring) and midfielder Leon Goretzka (broken hand) are also missing in the home game against the newly promoted team, in which national soccer goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is celebrating his comeback after a long injury break. Neuer was last in the Munich goal on November 12, 2022 in a 2-0 away win against FC Schalke 04. The 2014 world champion played his last game to date in Germany’s early World Cup exit in Qatar on December 1, 2022 against Costa Rica.
Tel and Müller will probably be on the bench again
Tuchel warned about SV Darmstadt. “They are dangerous on the crosses and have fought their way into the league. As always, we will prepare seriously and be ready to give everything to win the game,” said the 50-year-old.
After the 3-1 win at Galatasaray in the Champions League, the Munich team are heading into the task against the twelfth place in the table with momentum. “The mood is completely different when you win or lose. It’s not that easy to win in Istanbul,” said Tuchel. “We definitely have things to improve, as always.”
The Munich team can cope with Gnabry’s loss given the top form of their offensive team. Leroy Sané, Kingsley Coman, Jamal Musiala and Harry Kane impress at a high level. “They are extremely strong right now,” said Tuchel. There is no reason to “interrupt the flow”. Super joker Mathys Tel and leading player Thomas Müller will therefore probably have to sit on the bench again.
The expected lineups

SV Darmstadt 98: Shoes – Klarer, Gjasula, Maglica – Bader, Kempe, Holland, Nürnberger – Mehlem – Skarke, Pfeiffer
Referee: Martin Petersen (Stuttgart)
