Shortly before the end, the Toronto Raptors with national team captain Dennis Schröder gave up the victory. You can rely on a German brother duo.
Basketball world champion Dennis Schröder narrowly missed his second win of the season in the North American professional league NBA.
With the Toronto Raptors, the Braunschweig native lost to the Chicago Bulls after overtime with 103:104 (93:93, 35:42). Alex Caruso secured the Bulls’ victory with a successful long-distance throw 2.1 seconds before the end of extra time. The 30-year-old Schröder had ten points and ten assists.
Wagner brothers win again
Meanwhile, a brilliant brother duo led the Orlando Magic to their second win of the new NBA season. 23 points from Franz Wagner and 17 points from Moritz ensured a 102:97 (63:54) win over the Portland Trail Blazers. In addition to Franz Wagner, brother Moritz impressed with an almost perfect throwing rate. Eight of eight attempts from the field and his only three-point shot were successful. Only one of the 26-year-old’s free throws didn’t find the target.
There were successes for Maxi Kleber with the Dallas Mavericks and Isaiah Hartenstein with the New York Knicks. Kleber won with superstar Dirk Nowitzki’s former team against the Brooklyn Nets 125:120 (57:59). The Slovenian Luka Doncic once again excelled for the Mavs with 49 points. Kleber remained without a counter. Hartenstein and the Knicks managed a 126:120 (69:61) win over the Atlanta Hawks. The German center scored eight points.
