The German footballers still have everything in their own hands in the fight for an Olympic ticket. Interim national coach Horst Hrubesch’s team won 2-0 (0-0) in the Nations League game on Iceland.
The goals were scored in front of around 2,500 spectators in Reykjavík by Giulia Gwinn with a penalty kick (65th minute) and Klara Bühl (90th + 4th). The victory means the German team remains three points behind Denmark, who won 2-1 (2-0) against Wales. There will be a direct duel in Rostock on December 1st. Only the group winner still has the opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
