After 1:38 hours, the 36-year-old Serb converted his first match point to a deserved victory. Djokovic was in first place at the event, which was worth almost 5.8 million euros, and lived up to his role as favorite.
Final opponent Dimitrow had previously prevailed against Stefanos Tsitsipas from Greece. Tsitsipas, in turn, knocked the German Olympic champion Alexander Zverev out of the tournament in France in the round of 16.
