Unsightly aftermath of the Linz derby between Blau-Weiß Linz and LASK: Yesterday, Monday, a Facebook post from “Tribüne Ost Fankollektiv”, a fan page of FC Blau-Weiß Linz, caused a stir. The Instagram chat history of an anonymous Blue and White fan with LASK midfielder Peter Michorl was shown in a screenshot.

When the Blue and White supporter smugly asked how he would like the derby victory, the Black and White kicker responded with the following: “You’re messing with the wrong guy. If I want, the boys will look for you all over Linz to hunt.” A verbal derailment – and an unmistakable threat that the hard part of the LASK fan scene would look for and find the blue and white fan. At least Michorl congratulated his counterpart on his derby victory: it was deserved…

Club takes action with punishment

The chat was also leaked to the OÖN this morning – which is why the club was asked whether this conversation actually took place or whether someone was making a joke online and it was just a fake conversation.

It is now clear: the dialogue really took place like this. Michorl apologized to the Blue and White fan in a club broadcast this Tuesday afternoon: “My reaction was stupid and I am incredibly sorry that I allowed myself to make such stupid statements in the emotion of losing the derby. I would like to apologize for this and deeply regret my behavior. “I obviously accept any form of punishment from the club,” the 28-year-old was quoted as saying in a press release.

His club also distanced itself from the statements: “The statements made by Peter in no way correspond to our values and guidelines for coexistence. We therefore condemn the statements made in the strongest possible terms and will punish Peter.”
