Just 103 seconds after the start of the game and before the first basket, a scuffle broke out in the NBA. Draymond Green puts Rudy Gobert in a headlock. Three professionals are thrown off the field.
NBA stars Draymond Green and Klay Thompson from the Golden State Warriors were thrown off the court before the first basket in the 101:104 defeat against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Minnesota’s Jaden McDaniels also went back to the locker room when the score was 0-0. His tugging on Thompson’s jersey triggered the scuffle between the two teams in the North American professional basketball league after just 103 seconds.
Green temporarily had the Frenchman Rudy Gobert, who intervened, in a headlock. According to the video images, the referees decided on penalties for McDaniels, Thompson and Green, for whom it was his second dismissal of the season.
“Clownish behavior”
“There’s not much to say. This is just clownish behavior,” said Gobert after the game in San Francisco, which was part of the new NBA tournament. According to Golden State coach Steve Kerr, McDaniels instigated the altercation. “Klay definitely shouldn’t have been thrown out. That was ridiculous,” said the ex-professional.
Gobert now expects the NBA to punish Green for his behavior. “I hope the league will do what needs to be done,” he said.
