Ski jumping: Upper Austrian suffers cruciate ligament tear

The 27-year-old Upper Austrian, who is currently in trainer Florian Liegl’s second training group, fell while landing after a long jump of 137 meters.

Steiner suffered a torn cruciate ligament as well as meniscus and collateral ligament injuries in his left knee.

He was operated on that same afternoon in the Kettenbrücke sanatorium in Innsbruck. Rehabilitation will take several months.
