The Argentine coach Jorge Sampaoli is among the candidates that the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) to replace Juan Reynoso at the head of the selection.
After the very poor start of Peru in the South American Qualifiersin which they had four defeats and a draw, the loss against Bolivia in La Paz was the straw that broke the camel’s back and the FPF leaders decided to give Reynoso an ultimatum.
Next week’s match against Venezuela in Lima will be transcendental for the technical director, who would have his hours numbered.

For this reason, the FPF directors have already sounded out Sampaoli.

At the national team level, Sampaoli was in charge of Chile between 2012 and 2016, where he won two Copa América, and between 2017 and 2018 he coached Argentina. He also coached at the club level at Universidad de Chile, Sevilla of Spain and Olympique de Marseille.
