Off to the south! When top national and international clubs train on grass pitches in the sunshine in winter, an Upper Austrian is often pulling the strings: Heinz Rosenauer from Bad Wimsbach organizes football training camps with his agency “Onside”.

A large number of the red-white-red Bundesliga teams – such as LASK, Sturm Graz, Rapid Vienna, Blau-Weiß Linz, Altach, WSG Tirol and Lustenau – have once again chosen Turkey as their camp destination this winter break. Among other things, Rosenauer organized the Austria Lustenau training camp. However, he cannot fully understand the Turkey hype: “The overall package obviously speaks in favor of Turkey, but we saw at LASK that the weather in Turkey can be very unstable. I would rather recommend Spain.” He brought the German Bundesliga club Heidenheim to Alicante.
SV Ried also relies on his services: The Innviertel team is stopping off in Catez, Slovenia, for the first time this year. “There are heated grass pitches there, and the climatic conditions are more similar to ours than in the south. That means: When you come back home, the change isn’t that big.”
