After two mixed performances, Alexander Zverev managed an easy win in Melbourne this time. Now it’s time for a duel with one of his favorite opponents.
Alexander Zverev is in the round of 16 at the Australian Open. The Olympic tennis champion won in Melbourne against the American Alex Michelsen 6:2, 7:6 (7:4), 6:2 and, unlike in the previous two rounds, was hardly challenged.
Zverev scored his first match point against the 19-year-old American after just 1:59 hours. In the fight for a place in the quarter-finals, Zverev will face the Briton Cameron Norrie on Monday, who defeated the Norwegian Casper Ruud in four sets. Zverev has won all four previous duels against Norrie and hasn’t dropped a set.
