That was close! Yannick Hanfmann and Dominik Koepfer almost made it into the doubles final of the Australian Open as outsiders. In the end a few points are missing.
Yannick Hanfmann and Dominik Koepfer narrowly missed out on reaching the doubles final at the Australian Open.
The German tennis duo had to admit defeat to the two Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori in the semi-finals in Melbourne with 3:6, 6:3, 6:7 (5:10). The Italian duo had previously eliminated the German Davis Cup double Kevin Krawietz and Tim Pütz.
Nevertheless, the tournament was a great success for Hanfmann and Koepfer, because the two tennis professionals hardly play doubles together. The semi-finals in Melbourne were all the more surprising.
