They were interesting days, said Aleksander Aamodt Kilde at a press conference. “A lot of pain, I had two operations. We’re taking it day by day now. I can laugh again now, we’re on the right track.”

The Norwegian flew into the safety nets at finish S of the Lauberhorn downhill run on January 13th, dislocated his shoulder and sustained a deep cut in his leg. The 31-year-old lost a lot of blood and had to be transported away by helicopter.
He is currently recovering in Innsbruck. He wants to complete the entire rehabilitation there. “I’m currently confined to a wheelchair, I need someone to push me. Sleeping is also difficult, I have a lot of pain in my shoulder and leg.” His mother had pushed him to the press conference. He was very touched by the support that the racing driver received from his family, his girlfriend Mikaela Shiffrin, his fans and also his sponsors.
Stand on your own feet again
His goal, Kilde continued, was “to race again and hopefully win again.” But now he has to focus on being able to stand on his own two feet.
That’s why the ski star didn’t want to talk about a possible comeback: “A lot is unclear at the moment, but I’m positive.”
He continued: “I have decided not to say too much about it. I am very uncertain about my own situation.
Horrifying Instagram post with ulterior motives
Kilde recently posted a picture of the deep cut in his leg on Instagram. A frightening picture, which the athlete did not publish without ulterior motives.
“I wanted to show with my post how serious my injury is. It said a dislocated shoulder or a cut in the leg – that doesn’t sound that bad at first. Many people also wrote to me: ‘Your injuries are not that bad, see you So get back on the skis soon.’ No, you won’t. Sure, the bloody picture probably wasn’t nice to look at for everyone. The public post also helped me calm down, which is why I did it.”
