“Perhaps this defeat came at exactly the right time. It was a sign that we can only function if we are all ready,” said Blau-Weiß-Linz coach Gerald Scheiblehner after the botched dress rehearsal before the spring start in a week against Altach.
His team lost 1:3 (1:1) against second division team Vienna – and was inferior in many respects. BW coach Scheiblehner also had to take note of this: “We can’t be satisfied with most of the game. We didn’t manage to put the performance on the pitch in a week in which we reduced the intensity a bit in training “We didn’t have enough excitement, lost important duels and couldn’t take advantage of our chances to score at the start of the game.”
Things have to be different in the first competitive game of the year in Vorarlberg: “It wasn’t a good test, but we’re not stressing about it. Next week it’s about points again, so we’ll be ready.” The only positive thing: striker Ronivaldo was able to play in the entire second half.
