In order to get the popularity of Formula 1 in Germany back on track, RTL will once again broadcast seven races live on free TV this year. With the return of the premier class on the German private broadcaster, well-known experts are coming into play again. Above all, Kai Ebel, who is reactivated as a “track reporter”.
The 59-year-old with the flashy outfits has around 500 Formula 1 races under his belt as a presenter and has made a name for himself above all as a journalistic companion to Michael Schumacher. The other RTL experts will be Heiko Wasser and Christian Danner.
The first race that will be shown live on RTL is the season start on March 2nd in Bahrain. In addition, the qualification or sprint will be broadcast on RTL on five Saturdays, but the race will then be available on Sky.
In Austria, ORF and Servus TV will once again share Formula 1 broadcasts this year. At the start in Bahrain it is Servus TV’s turn, a week later it is ORF’s turn in Saudi Arabia.
