Super Bowl 2024: Usher performs on roller skates

Roller skates, super hits and surprise guests: US musician Usher rocked the halftime stage at the Super Bowl.

In a spectacular halftime show of the 58th Super Bowl, led by Usher, the US musician rocked the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas with his greatest hits. None other than Usher, who is considered a master of R&B, knows how to captivate the audience with his performance. He enchanted the audience with his sounds and heated up the atmosphere with exuberant party music.

Alicia Keys and HER as well as rap greats Ludacris and Lil Jon enriched the show with guest appearances and gave Usher’s performance additional dynamic. Between dazzling solo performances and interaction with an ensemble of dancers and a brass band, Usher demonstrated his extraordinary stage presence, which was accompanied by quick outfit changes and even a roller-skating performance.

The show’s quiet, almost reverent moments, such as the piano duet with Alicia Keys, stood in striking contrast to the energetic dance routines Usher performed on the stadium lawn. The performance of “U Got It Bad” in particular showed that Usher has lost none of his precision and showmanship even after three decades in the music business.

Before the game, Reba McEntire and Post Malone added to the celebratory atmosphere with their performances, while celebrities such as Taylor Swift, stars Queen Latifah, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, and Elon Musk were among the spectators.

As the culmination of the show, Usher and his celebrity guests shook the stadium. The New York Times writes: “a 20-year-old hit that still sounds like it came from the future, a rousing party with hundreds of people, a connection between black college marching bands and hip-hop and R&B, which they often interpret on the field. Everyone on stage did the A-town stomp, the muscle, the thunderclap, the rockaway. “I took the world to the A,” Usher chanted, reminding everyone that in his hands the global and the local are one and the same”
