Lindsey Vonn deletes her post from the day she skied with Roger Federer

Lindsey Vonn has not hidden the fact that Roger Federer is her idol in the past.

In this respect, it was a long-held dream for the former ski star that came true when she recently spent a day skiing together with the Swiss tennis star in Lenzerheide.

The American expressed her happiness on social media. “We’ve been talking about this for so long, I wasn’t sure if it would happen. But here we are: retired, skiing, enjoying life,” she comments on her video on the X and Instagram platforms.

An emotional debate

In the posting, the 39-year-old can no longer stop raving about the ex-tennis star. “Usually people you admire disappoint you in some way – but not Roger Federer.” It continues: “You are the GOAT – forever, because it takes more than numbers to have the influence you have.”

But the title of GOAT (Greatest of all time) calls out Djokovic and Nadal fans, who sharply criticize this claim. You have to know that the GOAT debate is quite emotional among some tennis fans.

This eventually goes so far that Vonn even deletes her posting on X.

She later explains: “The post was not a comparison, it was a tribute to my friend who had a big influence on my life. Federer can be my GOAT, no matter what others think.” The video still exists on Instagram. There she adds: “For me, Roger will always be the GOAT.”
