As with her comeback last week in Åre, the American is skipping the giant slalom, as she announced on Instagram. Shiffrin had already ruled out starting in the final speed races a week later before she returned.

“Of course I had hoped to be able to compete in giant slalom again this season, but we ran out of time to make enough progress to be ready to race on Sunday,” explained Shiffrin, who won the slalom in Åre last Sunday had secured the crystal ball for the special classification. She had previously been sidelined for more than a month to deal with knee and ankle injuries.
