After his fourth yellow card, Bayer Leverkusen’s master coach Xabi Alonso is suspended from the next game. But why he saw the map is a mystery to him.
Coach Xabi Alonso from German soccer champions Bayer Leverkusen has no understanding for his fourth yellow card of the season in the game against VfB Stuttgart (2:2).
“I don’t understand the yellow card very well,” said Alonso, who is now suspended for the next game at Eintracht Frankfurt: “It was passionate on the bench, but nothing special happened. There were discussions with the referee and with the others Bench, but with respect. But I have to accept it and watch the next game from the stands.”
His colleague Sebastian Hoeneß was also shown a yellow card by referee Felix Zwayer in the same action. When asked whether he would be suspended for the first time in his young coaching career, the 42-year-old Alonso said with a laugh. “To be honest, not. I was also suspended from the second team at San Sebastian.”
