The San Isidro prosecutors Patricio Ferrari and Cosme Irribarren endorsed the request of Diego Maradona’s daughters to transfer his body to a mausoleum in the City of Buenos Airesmore specifically to the Puerto Madero neighborhood.

Maradona’s body is in the “Jardín de Bella Vista” cemetery in the Buenos Aires town of San Miguel, where there was a procession the day after his death on November 25, 2020.

The briefs were presented by Dalma, Giannina, Jane and Diego Fernando who, being a minor, was represented by his mother, Veronica Ojeda. The request requests the transfer of the remains of Diego Armando Maradona from the cemetery “Bella Vista Garden“, located in the Buenos Aires town of San Migueltowards the mausoleum that will be located, starting in 2025, in Madero Port.

Now, the request fell on the Oral Criminal Court 3, an organization that also has the case open for the death of Diego Armando Maradona. M10: the memorial in honor of Maradona

Diego Armando Maradona died on November 25, 2020. Since the departure of the great Argentine icon, the relatives of the “10” looked for a way to build a memory space where the people can go to pay tribute to the footballer.

The project first proposed the creation of a mausoleum and a museum, of 400 and 1,400 square meters respectively, on the property of Costa Salguero. After comings and goings, Maradona’s heirs inaugurated, in October 2023, the M10 Memorial which is finally located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Puerto Madero.

“Today we want to announce the beginning of the Memorial project where our father will find eternal rest near the love of the Argentine people. The M10 Memorial will be located on the Lower Esplanade of the City of Buenos Aires and will complete its construction in 2025,” they detailed via Instagram to moment of the inauguration. The ceremony was accompanied by the presence of the musician Juanse Gutierrezwho sang an acoustic version of “Forever Diego“, the song he recorded together with the Ratones Paranoicos.
