“I have to give a realistic list, even if I know it’s virtual,” Henry said, adding not to “close the door on anyone.”

Despite being able to call up to three players over the age of 23, Henry has only had two for this preliminary list: Lyon attacker Alexandre Lacazette, and Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta.

“This is a pre-list to prepare for, it can evolve and in my opinion, it will evolve,” Henry insisted.

France will begin training on June 16 and will play friendly matches against Paraguay, on July 4 in Bayonne, and against the Dominican Republic and Japan in Toulon, on July 11 and 17 respectively.

The Olympic tournament starts on July 24 and will end on August 9. France shares a group with the United States, New Zealand and Guinea.
