FC St. Pauli: Coach Hürzeler is about to move to the Premier League

According to a media report, FC St. Pauli and Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed on a transfer fee for coach Fabian Hürzeler, who had just been promoted to the first Bundesliga with the Hamburg club.

Bundesliga newcomer FC St. Pauli can expect a record transfer fee if its coach Fabian Hürzeler moves to Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion. According to information from the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, the clubs have agreed on a sum in the high single-digit million range.

It is estimated to be around 7.5 million euros – plus bonus payments if Brighton reaches a European Cup competition. The champions of the 2nd Bundesliga have never earned so much money from a transfer. The transfer is expected to be announced soon.

Led FC St. Pauli into the first league

The 31-year-old Hürzeler is said to have signed a contract in Brighton until 2027. He only extended his contract with the local club last March without an exit clause. He led the club to the second division championship last season and thus back to the Bundesliga after 13 years. Hürzeler has been head coach at FC St. Pauli since December 2022. Before that, he worked as assistant coach under Timo Schultz.
