National team: Nagelsmann begins preparation for Hungary match

The time off with the families is over. After active relaxation and a sweet temptation, national coach Julian Nagelsmann begins preparations for the second European Championship match against Hungary.

After a break with their families, the national football players’ focus in the team headquarters in Herzogenaurach is on the second European Championship group match against Hungary.

National coach Julian Nagelsmann is not holding any team training today. After a medical and fitness check in the morning, there will be a voluntary athletic exercise in the afternoon.

The national coach will then hold a meeting with the DFB team to prepare for their next task on Wednesday (6 p.m./ARD/MagentaTV) in Stuttgart. A win against the Hungarians could secure their place in the round of 16 that same evening.

Ice cream from a celebrity chef

After the furious 5:1 win against Scotland at the tournament opener, Nagelsmann initially gave the national players some free time at the weekend. He himself went on a mountain bike tour with his partner Lena Wurzenberger.

Previously, celebrity chef Tim Mälzer had served ice cream to everyone in the team quarters, much to the delight of Nagelsmann and captain Ilkay Gündogan. Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller were also star guests at the 75th company anniversary of quarters host and supplier Adidas on Saturday evening.
