Things are getting serious now: the group phase of the European Championship is over, and the first round of 16 matches of the tournament will take place on Saturday. Find out who will face whom here.
The group phase of the European Football Championship is over. The last matches in groups E and F took place on Wednesday. 36 of the 51 tournament games are over – that’s the bad news. The good news: fans can look forward to 14 knockout games before the final on July 14th, before the new European champion is crowned in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium.
While the tournament for the teams from Scotland, Croatia, Albania, Serbia, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and the Czech Republic has already ended, the remaining 16 teams will fight in eight round of 16 matches starting next Saturday (29 June) and ending Tuesday (2 July) for a place among the best eight in Europe.

After the round of 16, the first quarter-finals will take place from July 5. Germany would also be up on Friday – assuming they win against Denmark. The opponent for the team led by national coach Julian Nagelsmann could then be Spain or Georgia.
