In any case, the reality is different. Around 75 percent of all penalties are converted. This number has been astonishingly stable for years, across all European leagues. The result is that everyone expects the shooter to score because that is “normal.” He is under enormous pressure. On the other hand, no one blames the goalkeeper if he misses. If he does, he is the hero. He can only win.
