French Open winner Alcaraz is on course at Wimbledon. His former conqueror will not defeat him a second time.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz remains undefeated after his successful second round appearance at Wimbledon. The Spanish world number three beat Australian Aleksandar Vukic 7:6 (7:5), 6:2, 6:2 and thus made it into the third round. There, Alcaraz will face US professional Frances Tiafoe.
In the previous only encounter with Vukic, the Spaniard had come up short. However, the duel took place in the 2020 French Open qualification under very different circumstances. The then 17-year-old was still number 193 in the world, but he is now a three-time Grand Slam tournament winner. The 21-year-old recently won the French Open in the final against Olympic tennis champion Alexander Zverev.
