European Championship semi-final: England with 26 players in training – Kane also there

The English national team is training with its best line-up ahead of the European Championship semi-finals. Top scorer Kane also no longer seems to be affected by the aches and pains from the Switzerland game.

England’s national football team can tackle the European Championship semi-finals with its best line-up. Coach Gareth Southgate had all 26 players, including captain Harry Kane, available for the final training session in Blankenhain at midday. The 30-year-old Kane was substituted on Saturday during the victory over Switzerland due to cramps, but seems to have recovered well since then.

The Three Lions will face the Netherlands in Dortmund on Wednesday (9 p.m./ARD and MagentaTV). Central defender Marc Guehi is likely to return to the starting eleven after serving a yellow card suspension and replace Ezri Konsa. It is unlikely that Southgate will give a new impetus to the attack with Cole Palmer or Anthony Gordon.

Shaw or Trippier?

It remains to be seen whether Southgate will field his team in the usual 4-2-3-1 or the 3-4-2-1 system from the Switzerland game. Luke Shaw, who returned after a long injury, is ready to start. “Of course I think I’m fit and ready for 90 minutes. It’s now up to Gareth to decide,” said the defender. So far, Kieran Trippier has taken on the role of left-back at the European Championships.

England will travel west after training in Blankenhain. In the evening, Southgate and Kane will speak at the press conference in Dortmund’s semi-final stadium.
