In the next round, they will face Fortaleza from Brazil.

Before the first minute had even arrived, the home team’s intentions were clear.

Following a corner, midfielder Alan Patrick’s long-range shot went just wide.

Rosario Central, for its part, placed its players within a few meters, trying to be a short team, in which all the players had a defensive occupation.

In the 9th minute, a cross from the left by midfielder Wesley Ribeiro was controlled by forward Rafael Santos Borré and finished with a bicycle kick, but the ball went over the crossbar.

Inter dominated possession and goal-scoring opportunities at the start of the match.

At 19 minutes, and in their first appearance of the match, Rosario scored.

After a free kick, Facundo Mallo controlled and held the ball for Agustín Sández to arrive, define with a very strong left-footed shot and make it 1-0.

After Sández’s goal, the first half changed.

Internacional continued to control the ball as it wished, although it no longer hurt Central, who defended in a well-coordinated and excellent manner.

At the same time, the Rosario team began to recover the ball more frequently and play long passes looking for the forwards Jaminton Campaz, Marco Ruben and Enzo Copetti, although these passes were not as precise.

Towards the end of the first half, Central’s second clear chance came with a free kick from Campaz.

The ball was going long, so goalkeeper Rochet let it pass, but Mallo arrived to put it back in the middle.

The ball reached Ruben but his header, in front of an open goal, hit the post.

The match continued as it had been, Internacional was the team with the majority of possession, although “Canalla” was no longer waiting for so long, because little by little it began to take advantage of errors by the local midfield to recover the ball and be able to counterattack, something it had not been able to do until Sandez’s goal.

Just after the second half had started, a great cross from Alexander Bernabei from the left was headed in by striker Enner Valencia.

The shot was blocked by Jorge Broun, but the rebound was pushed into the goal by Patrick, to equalize the score.

By the 16th minute of the second half, Inter were clearly the more dangerous team.

A good through ball from Alan Patrick set up Enner Valencia, who broke free on the right and put in a low cross for Rafael Santos Borré, which was intercepted by goalkeeper Jorge Broun.

In the following minutes, Central dedicated itself to defending with the vast majority of its men and trying to counterattack with Campaz and Copetti, although, as always when they break away they had no teammates in attacking positions, these counterattacks were not effective and they quickly lost the ball.

With Internacional besieging and charging the area with players to head (including goalkeeper Rochet) and “Canalla” defending with all its men behind the middle of the field, the final whistle blew and the Rosario team’s qualification for the round of 16 was confirmed.
