Olympic Games: When will the Argentine BMX rider compete for a medal?

The biker José “Maligno” Torres qualified for the BMX freestyle final at the Paris 2024 Olympic Gamesin which he will compete for the first medal for the Argentine delegation.

Torres completed two very good runs in the qualifying round, scoring 86.24 and 87.08 points respectively, which put him in second place in his series behind only the American. Justin Dowell.

The story of Jose Torres

Jose Torresknown as “Maligno”, was born in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, on March 28, 1995.

At the age of 10 he moved to Córdoba, Argentina, where he discovered his passion for bicycles. While playing soccer with his twin brother, he was drawn to BMX when he saw other kids doing tricks.

At the age of 14, Jose first saw a cyclist do a trick called “Flair” and his interest was piqued and he asked to borrow a bike to try it himself.

Since then, there was no turning back and he dedicated himself completely to BMX.

His dedication and skills in the sport led him to compete at an international level, and he reached France to play the Olympic Gamesmarking a new chapter in his career as a professional cyclist.

At 29 years old, he is considered the most outstanding athlete in Argentina and America and won the gold medal at the 2023 Santiago Pan American Games, in addition to triumphing in the prestigious X Games from United States.
