Paris surrenders at the feet of another gold for Simone Biles, the owner of gymnastics history

Simone Biles recovered the throne of the gym which he had lost in Tokyo by winning the all-around gold, his second triumph in the Olympic Games Paris 2024after an exciting final where Brazilian Rebeca Andrade came second, revalidating the silver she won three years ago.

Biles, who had already won the team gold on Tuesday, thus adds her sixth Olympic title and her ninth medal at the Games.

With his triumph, Biles becomes the first gymnast to win the Olympic title in this event in two non-consecutive editions.

The American also now surpasses the legend in Olympic gold medals Nadia Comaneciwhich won five, and is only behind Larisa Latyninawith nine, and Vera Caslavskawith seven.

Her tally could increase in the coming days if she medals in the vault, balance beam or floor finals, for which she also qualified.

For Andrade, who on Tuesday led Brazil to an unprecedented bronze in her country’s team gymnastics, Thursday’s win is her second silver in the all-around competition, in which she also came as world runner-up, and her fourth medal at the Games.
