In fact, Chen and Quan are so in sync that from some camera angles it looks like only one person is jumping. Even on second glance, you might think it’s a blurry image of a single person. The Chinese women were considered favorites before the competition. After their jump, everyone should know why. With 359.10 points, they won the gold medal – absolutely deserved, in my opinion as a layman. To be honest, I know nothing about the sport, but the Chinese women’s performance leaves me amazed. I will not pursue a career in synchronized diving anymore, you have to be realistic about that. But Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi have sparked my interest in the sport.
