Florian Wellbrock no longer has a chance of winning a medal in the Olympic pool. The 26-year-old is once again eliminated in the preliminary round.

Freestyle swimmer Florian Wellbrock was also eliminated in the preliminary round of the 1500 meters. The 26-year-old only came 14th in the preliminary rounds in 15:01.88 minutes. The best eight swimmers qualified for the final. Wellbrock had already missed the final over 800 meters in the La Défense Arena. The second German starter, Sven Schwarz, was also eliminated.

Wellbrock won the bronze medal in the longest pool distance at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. The Paris Games are not over for him yet. Next week, Wellbrock wants to fight for medals in open water. He is the Olympic champion over ten kilometers.
