Paris 2024: Majdalani and Bosco make a promising start in sailing with hopes of repeating a historic podium

The Argentine duo composed of Matthew Majdalani and Eugenia Bosco achieved a great debut on the first day of the discipline candle Mixed Multihull (Nacra 17) and placed second in the competition of the Olympic Games of Paris 2024.

On the other hand, Lucia Falasca She climbed to sixteenth place in the women’s Dinghy and Francisco Guaragna finished in twenty-sixth place in the men’s Dinghy for the 2024 Olympic Games.

After three races in the Marina de Marseille, the Albiceleste pair finished second in the overall standings, behind only Italians Tita Ruggero and Caterina Banti, who won the gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In this category, then called Nacra 17, Santiago Lange and Cecilia Carranza won gold in Rio 2016.

The Argentines managed to finish second in the first and second races, while they finished fifth in the last race. In total, they have collected 4 points and are only 2 points behind the European leaders.

Falasca also managed to climb to sixteenth place in the overall women’s Dinghy table with 74 points – 35 points away from the ILCA virtual podium – after finishing eleventh and fifth in the day’s races.

On the men’s side, Guaragna finished sixth and eighteenth in his races on the day, placing him twenty-sixth in the overall standings.

Next Sunday, Majdalani and Bosco will compete in three new races – out of a total of 12 – starting at 07:05 (Argentine time), while Guaragna will also compete at the same time. Falasca will run his seventh and eighth races at 09:35 (Argentine time).
