Tim Torn Teutenberg is improving from competition to competition in the Omnium. However, the track cyclist’s dream of an Olympic medal has not come true.
Youngster Tim Torn Teutenberg took seventh place in the omnium at the Olympic track cycling competitions. The 22-year-old scored 98 points in the four disciplines of scratch, tempo race, elimination race and points race in the Velodrome of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. Gold went to Frenchman Benjamin Thomas with 164 points, ahead of world champion Iuri Leitao (153) and Fabio van den Bossche from Belgium (131).
Teutenberg is one of the great talents in German cycling. The 22-year-old won the European Championship title last year in his favorite discipline, elimination races. A title he had already won in the junior category. But the youngster also knows how to impress on the road. Just this spring he won the U23 class at the cobblestone classic Paris-Roubaix.
