Good morning! At 11 a.m. the German basketball players will play for bronze. It is the last game with coach Gordon Herbert. The German Basketball Association wants to announce the successor for the successful coach relatively quickly after the Olympic Games. “That will happen soon,” said Vice President Armin Andres. “The next games in the European Championship qualification are already in November. The new coach will need a certain amount of lead time to talk to the players.”
After the bronze medal match, Herbert will move to the German double winners Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. Under the 65-year-old Canadian, the German team won bronze at the European Championships at home in 2022 and sensationally won the World Cup title in Manila a year later.
