What is the objective of NASA’s new mission?
The spacecraft is expected to complete a two-orbit, three-hour journey to the station and then automatically couples to the Rassvet module. This is a crucial process for the integration of the new crew to the space station.
Once on board, the three new members will join the mission being carried out by the nine astronauts who are part of Expedition 71. They will be there in the orbital laboratory for approximately six monthsreturning to Earth in spring 2025.

The 12 tenants of the International Space Station are accompanied by the three taikonauts, astronauts from the People’s Republic of China, of the Shenzhou 18 mission, who have been at the Chinese space station Tiangong from April to October this year.
