Salzburg won 4-0 (2-0) against regional league team Wiener Viktoria in Stockerau on Wednesday, while current Bundesliga leaders Rapid beat SR Donaufeld 3-1 (0-1) at the Hohe Warte in Vienna. The round of 16 draw was made immediately afterwards.
Neither Bundesliga team played in their first team formation. For Salzburg, ÖFB goalkeeper Alexander Schlager made his season debut after suffering a knee injury before the European Championship. For Ghanaian Edmund Baidoo, who was brought in from Norway in the summer, it was his first ever appearance in a competitive match for the “Bulls”. Petar Ratkov and Leandro Morgalla also played from the start.
