The story behind the composition of “Let It Be”, one of The Beatles’ greatest hits
From 1968 to 1970 when the band dissolved, The Beatles went through a difficult time. On the one hand, the four of them began to feel the wear and tear of a relationship that had begun to be cultivated at the beginning of that decade, and on top of that there was already a general irritation at the constant creative dispute that occurred between the members.

In this context, Paul felt that the band was falling apart, so during that stage he did not sleep well, took a lot of drugs and drank more than normal. One of those many nights, paul dreamedand there found his mother, Mary Mohin McCartneywho had died of cancer when he was 14 years old.
It was in that dream that she told him: “It’s going to be fine. “Just let it be”. Immediately, he went to his piano and began to create what would become an anthem of acceptance. “It was great to see it because dreams allow you to meet that person for a moment; there they are, and It almost seems like they are physically together again. “It was very comforting,” McCartney said.
The first phrase of the song already has unmatched power:
“When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be”
This song was the one that gave the title to the album that would be released in 1970, the last publication by The Beatles.. Later, part of the recording of the song could be seen in the documentary series “Get Back”, directed by Peter Jackson and released in 2021, rescued 55 hours of unpublished material filmed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in January 1969.
