From Pachamamita to Planeta Puna, the history of the gastronomic enterprise of Puna that received the IRAM-ISO 9001

Planeta Puna SRLa family business located in Pocitos Salt FlatsSalta department of Los Andes, achieved an important achievement by obtaining certification IRAM-ISO 9001:2015. This distinction recognizes the quality and excellence in the services offered by the company. But more than that, it recognizes the efforts of a family and a community that found prosperity as mining suppliers.

The history of Planet Puna It started in 2011 as a small restaurant called “Pachamamita”, thanks to the support of the entrepreneurs program of the Citizen Fund of the Ministry of Tourism from the province of Salta. Over time, the company expanded its services to mining sector, offering catering and cleaning for camps.

Nowadays, Planet Puna has 13 years of experience and provides services to three mining camps, in addition to maintaining a modern restaurant in Pocitos Salt Flats.

The IRAM-ISO 9001:2015 certification came at the right time: It is a recognition that will allow them to reach more mining companies, which demand international quality standards to be hired.

“It is an achievement that reaffirms that each dish we serve reflects quality, effort and dedication,” added the woman in charge of the project.

Located in the heart of the Puna of Salta, this community is characterized by its hospitality and its connection with nature. The town is famous for its festivities, such as Feast of the Virgin of the Assumptionwhich attracts visitors from all over the region.

Local gastronomy is another of the attractions of Pocitos Salt Flats. Traditional cuisine includes dishes such as the “locro”, the “humitas” and the “roasted lamb”, that can be enjoyed at Ania’s restaurant. The company focuses on promoting local culture and identity through its services.
