A break in Copetonas
The town, which is currently inhabited by 1,200 people, is the ideal place to take a break in the middle of a trip. Taking a weekend in Copetonas is living rural life to the fullest, where nap time is sacred. There are two possibilities to stay in the same town: Hospedaje Copetonas, some equipped apartments, and the Cabañas Copetonas Complex. There are many activities to do during the day such as visiting the old Bar de Lera, a General Store that preserves its period spirit or taking a horseback riding bike tour.
Returning to the town is the Regional Museum and Cultural Center, where you can see a sample of rural and curious elements of the town’s history and daily life, as well as an archaeological display. In the Museum, mate is the protagonist, reflecting the deep-rooted spirit of the traditional Mate and Torta Frita Festival. The most restless can enjoy the proposal that is proposed around the river and its currents. In the so-called Cueva del Tigre, on the river, there is a rustic spa ideal for spending the afternoon, enjoying the sun and having some mates. The Cifuentes Waterfall is the highest waterfall in the entire Province of Buenos Aires over the Quequén Salado. Another walk is to the Hydroelectric Power Plant and the El Milagro lime factory, today abandoned and in ruins. A different place to take some of the best photographs in the area.
