“Slow Horses”, the Apple TV+ series starring Gary Oldman, was renewed for a sixth season

The sixth season will be based on Mick Herron’s novels “Joe Country” and “Slough House,” which are the sixth and seventh books in the series.

The successful series Slow Horsesstarring Gary Oldmanhas been renewed again after the conclusion of season 4 on the streaming platform Apple TV+. A fifth season was ordered in January.

In season six, the spies go on the run while Diana Taverner (Kristin Thomas) involves them all in a high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge. The sixth season will be based on the novels of Mick Herron “Joe Country” and “Slough House”which are the sixth and seventh books in the series.

The success of Slow Horses

Slow Horses has been a huge hit for Apple TV+, racking up BAFTA nominations for Oldman and his co-star Jack Lowden and winning a Primetime Emmy for screenwriter Will Smith.

The drama follows the exploits of Slough House boss Jackson Lamb (Oldman) alongside a cast that now includes Jonathan Pryce, Hugo Weaving and Joanna Scanlan. Season 4 began with River’s (Lowden) grandfather, David Cartwright (Pryce), killing an intruder in the house by posing as River, who was planning to murder him. After tracing the origins of the would-be killer, River discovered that a former CIA agent named Frank Harkness (Weaving) was running an operation to turn babies into trained killers.

Season 5 is expected to premiere in 2025. In the past, Apple has presented two seasons of Slow Horses simultaneously, but there is no information about season 7 yet.
