In the commission, Martínez recalled that, in the previous national administration, “A reference price was set so that the cost that a family without access to the network must pay to be able to heat or cook is not left to the discretion of the free market.”

The deputy noted that “this measure created a great imbalance, since prices can range between $11,000 and $25,000, and especially affects localities in the province without a natural gas connection.”
He added that “the further you get from the more expensive and more inaccessible urban centers, sectors that you have not yet reached with the infrastructure.”

Martínez also maintained that “The elimination of the price cap benefits merchants who can charge whatever they want, which aggravates the situation for those who do not have access to gas and depend on cylinders, which can also be available at exorbitant prices.”
He also mentioned “the need to invest in infrastructure in the province, because it is unacceptable that, being the owners of the resource, Vaca Muerta, there are so many Neuquéns without access to the natural gas network.”
