Russia suspends referee because he praises himself
As we all know, no one can stand braggarts. A Russian referee has now been suspended because he praised his referee on the Internet.
The Russian Football Association has suspended referee Vladislav Bezborodov from playing until the end of the season. Officially, the suspension was justified on the association’s website with being late for a pre-match meeting and failing to appear at another date. Comments on social networks had previously caused a scandal, in which the user Vladislav Bezborodov praised the game management of the referee of the same name and insulted a colleague.
Russian referee used to be a professional himself
After the comments became known in the press, the football association promised to investigate the matter. According to the rules, referees are not permitted to make public statements about the game management. Bezborodov played football himself in the 1990s and has been a referee in the Russian Premier League since 2007. In 2009 he refereed the final of the U17 European Championship, which Germany won.
