The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) prohibited the production and sale of a counterfeit olive oil that used the brand and packaging of the renowned firm Nucete.
Through provision 9548/2024, published in the Official Gazettethe ANMAT justified its decision to protect public health by verifying that the product lacked the required labeling and labeling and was, therefore, “illegal.”
The affected product, a “extra virgin olive oil, classic” with packaging and details of Nucetewas identified as fake, and its sale was prohibited throughout the country and on online sales platforms.
According to ANMATthe product violated several health regulations by not having legal registrations or correct labels. The investigation began after consumer inquiries National Food Institute (INAL) on the authenticity of the product, confirming that it violated several articles of the Food Code.
“The product is in violation of article 3 of Law No. 18284, article 3 of Annex II of Decree No. 2126/71, and articles 6 bis, 13 and 155 of the Argentine Food Code (CAA), for being a counterfeit product, lacking health records, and being falsely labeled by including on its label the brand and the establishment and product records belonging to the firm Agro Aceitunera SA, brand NUCETE, resulting in being an illegal product,” highlights the statement prepared by ANMAT.
“Because it is a product that cannot be clearly and reliably identified as produced, prepared and/or divided in a specific establishment, it may not be produced in any part of the country, nor marketed or sold in the territory of the Republic in accordance with the provisions of Article 9, section II of Law 18,284. ″, adds the entity.
ANMAT prohibited the sale of nebulizers
On the other hand, the National Administration of Drugs, Foods and Medical Technology also prohibited the marketing of a nebulizer “unauthorized MESH nebulizers”, and explained the reasons in the following writing.
